Joy Bowhay Business Branding

For this project, I developed a logo concept, colour scheme, business card / letter head and website layout for a privately practicing therapist. These items were designed to unify the brand across all forms of media, both print and web-based, so it had to be clear and easily recognisable at different shapes and sizes.

Two logo-forms were developed -one found its main source of inspiration in a lotus flower – denoting peace, tranquility – and the other from the initials of the client. Typography was kept Sans Serif to create a modern and simple feel with typefaces including Raleway and Lato.

Colours such as nudes, dark greys and pale blues were chosen to evoke a sense of calmness. The preferred form chosen was the more abstract ‘initial’ design.

Consistency with the design was carried through to the website with the logo design, colour scheme, and typeface choices. Certain pages were illustrated with hand-drawn visuals created on Procreate (below).

The website was created using a block builder and CMS. A content-first approach was used, meaning that above all else the website was informative and accessible.
